From the District to the Mill City

From the District to the Mill City

After a short hiatus, I’ve decided to pick up a pen, or in this case, tap on a keyboard and report on the vibrant culinary landscape in Minneapolis, MN. My foodie adventures won’t be limited to just this area, but it will be my main focus as I’ve recently moved here with my husband (a fantastic guy from North Dakota).

Living in the District was a great experience and one that I will never forget, but it was time for a change, and the Midwest was the strongest contender. This wasn’t a foreign concept to us since we both individually have ties to this part of the country. I remember visiting the Mill City a few times either due to family or friends and it always held a special little place in my heart. We’ve been here for almost a month and it continues to do so, even with below zero temperatures.

Minneapolis is: A progressive city.Home to 19 Fortune 500 companies. An ice fishing mecca. The birthplace of a true legend, Prince. These city-specific facts are widely known but you know what else makes this gem of a town stand out — its dining scene. From iconic local treasures (‘Jucy Lucy’, Walleye, Wild Rice, ‘Hot Dish’) to culturally-influenced cuisines (Scandinavian, Hmong, Somali, Italian), Minneapolis is brimming with a diverse yet comforting fare.

I look forward to exploring this upbeat metropolis one bite, one drink at a time and bringing you along for the ride.

Cheers!
